This Advanced Valves 20 mm FI temperature and pressure relief valve is rated at 600 kPa and is a vital safety component on a hot water geyser. It is mounted on the geyser, often on the opposite side to the drain cock, and vents through a pipe that leads directly out of the building.

The valve should have a 20 mm metal (copper) pipe connected to it, and that pipe must lead directly out of the building; it must be copper, not plastic. The pressure rating of the valve must match the pressure rating on the geyser, so check your geyser’s plate for 600 kPa before buying. Have geyser safety valves fitted by a qualified plumber.
